Colour Combinations

through the Visual Language module and Postcards brief I have been looking at colour schemes that compliment each other and work as a whole. For my postcards brief I decided to chose cities that are home to famous sneaker/trainer shops as I have collected them for many years. recently sneaker collecting has become more and more popular and prompted companies to re-release iconic shoes and to start collaborating with clothing brands to make new and interesting variations on there designs. These collaborations often involve improved quality of materials and extra added details that make the sneakers more interesting and give them a feel of quality and crafting. This quality also applies to illustration where a feel of crafting often makes an image more appealing. I designed 4 pairs of sneakers to represent the cities for the postcards brief and found it interesting to look at the colour schemes that I found appealing. it occurred to me that the combinations used are often ones that we encounter in our lives both in nature and man made compositions. I think that birds are an interesting place to look if you need to research colour combinations that work well together.
